“Not the ordinary!”

From the moment we arrived by taxi from JFK to the moment we left, I could only fault the hotel on one element which was the small number of tables for the breakfast/evening cheese events.
Everything else and I mean everything was perfect. From the excellent friendly reception, finding a room before check-in time, left luggage and drying our coats. The quirky atmosphere, dewy numbering of the rooms, huge bathroom, wealth of facilities and location was spot on.
If you can afford this place, look no further, you will not be disappointed!

This charming hotel offers outstanding service, clean trendy decor, a great location and impressive, cozy public areas. The front desk staff was incredibly efficient and professional. The doorman heard us discussing a cab and he escorted us to the sofa in the lobby while he hailed two cabs, had the cab doors open and had given the cabbie our destination addresses, all while we rested in the warmth of the lobby. The rooms are beautifully designed in classic colors and new furnishings. Room amenities include robes, slippers, bottled water, mini-bar, recessed lights, and more. The hotel offers complimentary wine, cheese, tea and cookies in the afternoon and continental breakfast each AM. Most hotels in NY are old and overpriced. This feels new, trendy and worth every penny. Would highly recommend.

The Staff put us into the 'Love room' on the 11th Floor, which was exceptional - the best in the house they said (and I believe them). Gorgeous balcony overlooking Madison Ave. - with a bottle of Champagne waiting for us on arrival. Clean, thoughtfully decorated and very memorable hotel. Perfect. The bar on the top floor is actually very good - the drinks are excellent. Full marks and thanks to ALL the Staff for making our elopement and NY City Hall / New Year's Eve Wedding even more special.

I called the Library to find out about availability . The front desk person, gave me misinformation regarding how to pay for the room. I followed his instructions and booked online only for him to call me and tell me he had given me misinformation. I asked to speak to his supervisor to try to fix the problem. When my guest arrived and checked into the hotel, he felt that it was appropriate to trash talk me to my guest. This is unbelievable. Do not stay here, especially for business, because you never know what they may be saying to your guests or clients that you book rooms for.

We got a special package that offered bubbly wine when we arrived; we never got that. We asked for wake-up calls but didn't receive them. Sheets were dirty (they said they had problems with the washing machines!). Shampoo, condidtioner bottles and toilet paper were not renewed!! we had to ask for them!!! And inquire if the construction noise has stopped before booking if you are still willing to risk it. We couldn't sleep for 4 nights.
